Day 2 of New York Fashion Week! rather than saying "you too can succeed on youtube if you keep working at it" I really wish influencers like ashley would use their influence to help the careers of other diverse people succeed. ashley has worked so hard and clearly humbly appreciates her work, but the reality is some people will have to work 10x as hard to find the same success because they have diverse body types that don't fit into fashion trends, they're not conventionally attractive, they have a physical disability, they're not cisgender, or all of the above. I don't think these things should stop anyone from making a social media account or trying at all, I just wish successful people would choose to uplift people who need opportunities on social media rather than give the same inspirational speech again and again
